We are calling this our “Sand and Snow” vacation as it starts in the deserts and parks of Moab, Utah including Arches and Canyonlands; heads down through the southwest corner of Colorado to Dunton Hot Springs and then on to Albuquerque.
What is really great is this trip allows you to plan a lot of unique outdoor activities while seeing some of the most beautiful areas of the national parks, the Colorado mountains and the Southwest.
A modification travelers might want to make would be based upon the airlines you prefer to fly. For us, we typically take Southwest so travel was into Salt Lake City and then back out of Albuquerque. However, you could also head to other nearby destinations like Telluride, Durango or even up to Denver.
And, of course, you may want to consider different lodging options based upon budgets or destinations and we’ll try to point out a few alternatives where possible.

June 23, 2017Hi!! I just saw your comment (not sure why we weren’t notified). But we are so glad to hear it helped. Our hope was to share plans which might help others – and hopefully get others to share updates, things we missed, suggestions, etc. Would love to hear how it goes!!
